Your eyes and mine |
|
I played with the positioning of the heads for years, slowly building up underneath them so I could create the greatest possible play between their souls. This closeup is a good view to discuss some of the type of work I have left to do on the sculpture. One of the "rules" of figurative art is that the eyes are the center of the head when taking measurements. If you look closely at her head, and then back at his you will notice the top of her head looks cut off, while his looks a bit tall. Since taking these photos, I have worked a lot on this aspect of their heads. Throughout the sculpture, there are a lot of little things like this I keep going back to and improving. It's called tightening up the sculpture. With every ten or twenty of these little improvements, the sculpture jumps another level and becomes that much more dynamic. The game is to see just how dynamic I can make it.
